Just north of Kathmandu, the Langtang Valley offers a shorter alternative to the more famous Everest and Annapurna treks without sacrificing dramatic mountain scenery or cultural depth.
The trail winds through dense forest, Tamang villages, and glacial moraine up to Kyanjin Gompa, with side trips to a viewpoint at Kyanjin Ri and a local cheese factory.
