Question 1

Do I need a visa to travel to Nepal?

Accepted Answer

Most nationalities can get a Nepal visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, or apply for an e-visa in advance. You'll need a valid passport, a passport-size photo, and the visa fee in cash (USD is widely accepted).

Question 2

What is the best time of year to trek or travel in Nepal?

Accepted Answer

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) offer the clearest mountain views and most stable weather, making them the best seasons for trekking and touring in Nepal. Winter and monsoon travel are possible in lower-altitude regions like Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, and Upper Mustang.

Question 3

Do I need a permit to trek in Nepal?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Treks such as Everest Base Camp and the Annapurna Circuit require a TIMS card and area-specific permits, like the Sagarmatha National Park permit or the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP). We arrange all required permits as part of your trekking package.

Question 4

How physically fit do I need to be to trek in Nepal?

Accepted Answer

Most treks involve 5 to 7 hours of walking a day at altitude. A moderate level of fitness is enough for shorter routes like Poon Hill or Langtang Valley, while longer treks such as Everest Base Camp or the Annapurna Circuit require better stamina and some prior hiking experience.
