Nepal's weather varies dramatically by season, and timing your trip right can make all the difference.
Spring (March - May)
Warm days, blooming rhododendron forests, and generally clear mountain views make spring one of the two peak trekking seasons.
Autumn (September - November)
The most popular season for good reason — stable weather, the clearest mountain visibility of the year, and comfortable temperatures at most altitudes.
Winter (December - February)
Cold at high altitude but excellent for lower-elevation treks and cultural tours in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan, with far fewer crowds.
Monsoon (June - August)
Wet and cloudy in most regions, but the rain-shadow area of Upper Mustang stays dry and is a great monsoon-season alternative.
